Today I did a job on a content site about a content site. I know a little ironic. This was a job reviewing the site PeoplePerHour. As I wrote the review I thought about the research I did when I start doing freelance writing in the beginning. Most of the articles I found were from people in the business for a while. They often were coming from a place of advancement. They had moved from content sites and on to cold contacting and full-time jobs with companies. I thought that I would give a little advice from the bottom.
I use content sites I am most comfortable with Hirewriters. Even though I have signed up with other sites this is the one that I search on most often. Of course I am doing cold contacting and searching for freelance jobs of site. My hope is that I will find a client that wants to hire me for repeat work from a job I did on a content site.
So how do you get started with content sites? The first thing I would suggest is to search around, read what people say about the site. Some will have skills tests to give you credit. Others will have you start at the bottom and through work you will increase in pay and assignment length. The biggest pointer I can give is sign up with a few and work. See which sites work best for you and when you find yourself stunted try a different one.
