On the 10th day of Bookmas

My true love reviewed

Buckhorn Brothers series

By Lori Foster

As some of you can tell I binged series this year and fell in love with some amazing authors. One such author is Lori Foster. I think I caught a book of hers last year and this year I just went nuts. So let’s begin with what I read of this long series. I still have some to add to my TBR list next year.

Buckhorn Beginnings: Sawyer / Morgan (Buckhorn Brothers #1-2)

This combo starts with Sawyer the only doctor in the small county of Buckhorn, Kentucky. Being a white knight he saves Honey Malone when she wrecks her car after driving it through his fence and into his pond. Honey becomes the only woman in a ranch house full of men, recovering and worried that she can endanger them when her past comes back to get its’ revenge.

Morgan is the big, bad sheriff and he is noticing just how calming having a stable relationship can change you when he watches his brother Sawyer settle down with Honey. But the one woman he wants and can’t stop thinking about is Misty Malone, Honey’s sister who seems more trouble than she is worth. Some men need a little shaking up, don’t they?

Forever and Always: Gabe / Jordan (Buckhorn Brothers #3-4)

Gabe is known as a ladies' man in Buckhorn with a heart of gold. After saving someone from drowning he also becomes a minor celebrity. Elizabeth Parks is working on a project for college, interviewing the type of people who risk their own lives for others to see what makes them different. She desperately wants to interview Gabe but he just isn’t having it until he makes her a deal, which backfires on him big time and the ladies man becomes a taken one instead.

Jordan is the town vet and his brothers believe that it will take a woman of utmost virtue to catch him. Be surprised when he rescues and falls for a single mother who is an exotic dancer. This one was so good.

Buckhorn Legacy: Casey / Back To Buckhorn (Buckhorn Brothers #5 & 5.2)

Casey is Sawyer’s son and is back in Buckhorn from college when he runs into Emma. Emma had a bad girl rep when they were children and it took everything Casey had to resist her back then. Now she needs his help and he won’t resist her the second time around.

“Leaving Buckhorn was the best thing Zoey Hodge did. Now she’s back to take care of her mum. She doesn’t mind seeing Garrett Hudson, one of the few who cared for her. Now he’s a firefighter with a very tempting sexy charm.” Oh, the firefighter heat in this one is so worth it.

Shohn (Buckhorn Brothers #5.1)

This one is a fan-favorite novella “Ranger Shohn Hudson can't help but notice a few things about Nadine Moest. She's gorgeous, she's smart, she's driven, and… she's apparently not into him. At all. Shohn's used to being chased, so having the one woman who matters resist his charms is not what he signed up for.” I love that even though we move on from the first family introduced the town is just as much of a character as the men and women found there.

Back to Buckhorn (Buckhorn Brothers #5.2)

Another novella in the series, these make such good quick reads that you can more than likely get through while waiting at the doctors' office. This one will make you cringe in embarrassment but you’ll love every moment and hot fireman action is nothing to sneeze at. One of the best I laughed out loud and cringed right along with Zoey.

A Buckhorn Summer (Buckhorn Brothers #5.3)

“Lisa has been on Gray’s mind every day since that mind-blowing encounter. He was reeling from a tragedy in the line of duty, and their connection was instant and intense. Still is. But sleepy Buckhorn is a million miles from her corporate world. And he has one sweet, hot summer to prove they have a future there, together…” You never know where surprise encounters can take you.
