Time off and What to Do with Yourself

As you all know I finished the first draft early last month. I choose to take the advice I was given by other authors to take at least a month off and not edit the book right away. I decided to also take a week and digitally detox as well.... so that is why I missed a blog or two and a couple of writing workshops.

What else have I been up to:

Reading I read a few books during my down time,

Falling Angels by Tracy Chevalier

This Year You Write Your Novel by Walter Mosley

The Writing Workshop by Alan Ziegler

On Writing Romance by Leigh Michaels

Writing Romances by Rita Gallagher

The Hedge Knight by George R.R. Martin

Gaming

We started a Palladium Hero's Unlimited Role Play Campaign. Getting my old group of gamer friends together. It has been a blast to get back to this interactive creative outlet.

I also started working on a Palladium Fantasy Role Play Campaign with the same gamer friends. I hope to start my game later this month.

Took my wonderful and supportive boyfriend out to gaming shops so he could get a set of gaming dice. He choose this lovely orange set from Chessex.

Planning out the next book

I started working on characters and the strings connecting the next book to Into the Fire and later books.

Started a spreadsheet of all the connections between the books in the series.

Picked settings and started the outline.

I wanted to share a great group of questions for characters with you all. I used these and added a few of my own that I felt I needed for my book.

I have started to edit the chapters my editor has sent back to me with questions and suggestions. If all goes to plan I hope to have the book published by the end of the year.
