The things you learn about yourself when you publish your second novel are fascinating. What you'll do differently? What chances you take? What you learn from last time you published? Whether you publish yourself (indie) or work with a publisher it's a different experience from your first. Let's talk about what it's like publishing my second novel in the Fire Series.
The Fire Inside Book 2 of The Fire Series
The Fire Inside is the second book in S. A. Crow’s Fire Series. A series of contemporary romance suspense novels set mostly in Seattle, Washington and concerning a group of friends. Each novel is a stand alone but connected through a timeline and the lives and antics of the friends. The first novel is Into the Fire featuring the group's core couple Travis Short and Raven Moore. This novel is now available for .99 in celebration of the publication of the second novel. The Fire Inside isn’t only a romance suspense, it's also a military romance, 2nd chance romance, and bodyguard romance.
Anna Haun is in real and terrifying danger. Understanding herself and trusting the last person she wants too is the only way she is going to survive.
Find out where Tony went when he left Seattle, Washington in the 1st Book of The Fire Series Into the Fire. Tony is going to save Anna even if she hates him in the end because the world deserves to have her in it.
More than Anna’s life hangs in the balance when a psychopath has plans for her.
Can Tony and Anna learn the truth and a way to save each other, before it's too late?
Tony is Travis’s bodyguard and left to help a friend in Texas in Into the Fire. This novel is about what happened after he left Seattle.
2nd time around publishing
Easier: I knew what to expect this time around. I scheduled more time for things this time around like; formatting, proofing, and uploading the manuscript.
Made easier: I went with a single seller, which meant I only had to deal with uploading requirements for one site. Made notes about what I wanted to change from the first rodeo.
Doing something different this time: Single seller site, made a placeholder on Goodreads, made a street team Facebook group, giveaways, contacted my local media, set up a book signing event at a locally owned bookstore.
It’s still a roller coaster ride and I’m sure it will always be.
Tell me more about The Fire Inside
Tony Lisi is a 1st generation American. His parents came to America from Italy and own several restaurants in the DFW area of North Texas. He joined the Navy out of high school. He met Steve in basic training. Steve got out of the Navy and tried his hand at acting and eventually created the band Home with Travis Short. When Travis developed a stalker, Steve suggested his ex-Navy SEAL friend Tony to become his bodyguard. That is what he’s been doing when he gets a call from his former commanding officer Admiral Haun.
Admiral Haun’s daughter Anna was abducted by her ex-boyfriend and he is calling in a team to help police find her. Tony calls his ex-SEAL team members left and they meet up in Fort Worth, Texas.
Anna Haun was on the cusp of adulthood when Tony and his team were under her father’s command. How could you not fall in love with the larger than life Italian soldier but when he rejected her she threw herself into her apprenticeship in Paris, France. Now back in the states she owns her own full figure lingerie couture business. She’s broken off her relationship with her long time French boyfriend who followed her to the States. When they rescue her she realizes that the first person her father would call is the last person she would want to see her vulnerable and now she has to trust him with her safety.
