How to use Live Streams and #AuthorTube to help your reach

What do you want to share with your readers? We live in a world full of media “The late Marshall McLuhan, a media and communication theorist, coined the term “global village” in 1964 to describe the phenomenon of the world’s culture shrinking and expanding at the same time because of pervasive technological advances that allow for instantaneous sharing of culture. (Johnson 192 Legrain, Phillipe. “In Defense of Globalization: Why Cultural Exchange Is Still an Overwhelming Force for Good Globalization.” Johnson 209-14.).”

The later part of the X generation was where I was born. I remember things like 8 tracks, vinyl, and the day MTV launched. The first cell phones, the VHS, the DVD player, and the cable change were all seen by me. I owned a Commodore 360 with the tape deck and watch as we grew into the flat screen monitors.

Now more than ever people can share their stories, lives, and visions. Live Streams and things like Authortube, Booktalk, and such are possible.

Why is this important and what can it do for you as a writer or author?

I don’t know if it’s important, but it is a way to get your name out there to potential readers and authors to collaborate with. Some feel that you need to find a balance between social media and writing. You don’t want to focus so much on your media that you forget to write.
