Batman Begins
Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins, starring Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne is a linear story with the theme of fear and the decisions a person can make when their decisions are solely based on that one emotion. It is also a coming of age story for the character as we watch his childhood, and fears become a catalyst for revenge and vigilante justice. His ability to learn to tackle his fears and obtain true justice is the true heart of the movie. Often a movie's title is vague and obscure, yet this movie's title is far from it, Batman Begins refers to the building of a solid idea a symbol that is incorruptible and feared.
The picture is an example of externally observable truth. Some may contend that the movie would be more a case for an artistic semblance of truth, because the film is at its base level a superhero genre movie. This statement is a simplification of the movie themes, internal conflict, and moral compass. The moviegoer could for a space of time believe that they live in Gotham city and that there is a man who believes in justice and is willing to fight his fears to make his home a better place for its citizens.
The chronological structure of the movie is broken up wisely with moments of relevant flash back sequences of the main character's background and struggles to find himself and answer truths about the world in a larger scale than just the destruction of his family. The character goes through the story arch of a tragic past, attempted revenge, rebellious youth phase, the finding of an understanding teacher figure, betrayal, the prodigal son’s return with purpose, trial and error, and finally justice.These sequences are well constructed and give you needed credible source material in an interesting way.
