Ultimate Guide on Author S. A. Crow

S. A. Crow is a LGBTQ+ author, writing coach, poet, and indie author living in Arlington, Texas with her lovely partner and two odd dogs. If she isn't writing, she's reading a good book.

I have always been a writer for fun since I was a child. I had a hard childhood and used to make up imaginary worlds in my head to escape. In my 20s, I sat down and wrote a book. It wasn't very good. I did not know about the craft of writing a novel, but I did it anyway. Sadly, I lost the manuscript, but the story lived in my memory.

November 2020, I went and signed up for NaNoWriMo and rewrote that story and I am so glad I did. I have so many more skills as an author now than I did in my 20s.

I hope that by sharing my work and journey with you, we can become better readers and authors together.

This article is a way for us to get to know each other in one place. You can expect a glimpse into my background, inspiration, pen names, works, and more.

Who is S. A. Crow

Background and Biography

I'm a total beach baby, being born in Southern California. My dad and my maternal grandmother have been the biggest influences in my life. Parts of my childhood weren't as nice under the fair California skies. Not that I would want anyone to go through some things I did, but it helped me form the person who I am and the writer I became.

Some of you might be familiar with my authors, who inspired me blog series and read that I wasn't censored as a child in reading materials, shows, or music choices. A mixture of my childhood trauma and the love of reading instilled in me by both my father and Grandma.

Pen Names

I've been a fan of romance suspense novels for a long time, so picking this genre to write in professionally first was a no brainer for me. I knew that Shirley Crow wasn't what I wanted to go with for my name on my novels. So, I chose my first and second initials. My other pen name came about when I sat down and rewrote that lost manuscript. The fact that it is a completely different genre and the fact that algorithms. I picked Ann Crow for my urban fantasy noir mystery P.I.R. (Paranormal Investigation and Registration) series.

The Fire Series

The Fire Series is written under my S. A. Crow pen name and is a series of standalone novels connected by a group of friends. The series will comprise 9 novels and various short stories.

It all began with;

Raven, a chef desperate to escape the high-pressure environment of Seattle's high-end restaurants, realizes that the career path she chose is not the right fit for her. While seeking a new direction, she serendipitously meets her favorite actor and gets the chance to cook for him. Confident in her culinary skills but uncertain about much else, she finds herself falling for him. But is her attraction to her famous boss worth risking everything she has worked for?

Travis regrets his relationship with his co-star Jessica and ends it. When he encounters Raven at a convention, he is captivated by her talent and hires her as his personal chef. Disillusioned by romance, especially after the toxic end of his relationship with Jessica, Travis begins to care deeply for his new chef. Yet, another workplace romance could spell disaster.

When Raven's life is endangered by Travis' stalker, he pushes her away for her safety. With the help of his friends, Travis realizes that his feelings for Raven are genuine. Can he win her back before it's too late? Can they overcome the obsession that haunts Travis and threatens Raven? Can they find the courage to fight for what could be the best thing for both of them?

Into the Fire, Book One of The Fire Series, is the first novel in an episodic contemporary romance suspense series set mostly in Seattle, Washington. Each novel focuses on a different couple within a group of friends. This book tells the story of Raven and Travis—how they meet, fall for each other, and face the dangers of obsession together. Can they find the courage to fight for what could be the best thing for both of them?
