Be a Guest Author

What is a Guest Author?

A Guest Author in this case is an author that is allowed to take over a blog or social media for another author. EX. In this blog, I’m giving authors a chance to send me an article of their choosing and art to accompany it to be posted on my blog for the month of April. The article usually is a chance for the author to discuss their own work or programs with a new audience of readers.

Why would someone ask for Guest Authors?

Well many reasons. Some websites hire freelance writers to write their blog and article pieces instead of keeping a stable of authors on the payroll. In my case, I am going to be taking part in Camp NaNoWriMo this next month and I want to focus my writing time on reaching my goal of 50k words in under 30 days. I don’t want my blog to sit idle while I am taking part in this event. Also, I would like the chance to introduce my readers to new authors And vice versa the Guest author's readers will come over and find my page as well and might enjoy my work as well.

How do you find Blogs to sign up to be a Guest Author?

Often an author will advertise that they are seeking Guest Authors. You can also ask an author your like to read if they are seeking Guest Authors or have a Guest Author program. Web sites also off the service for a fee like Guest Post

Why should you do it?

If you sign up with something like Guest Post it could get your articles and work out to a wider audience. If you do it for a fellow author you can possibly get new readers and give the Host author new readers as well.

Why am I seeking Guest Authors?

As I stated before I am seeking Guest Authors because I am will be writing a novel for Camp NaNoWriMo event. I will also be doing other NaNoWriMo events throughout the year. So I will be seeking more Guest Authors throughout the year.

How to be a good host for Guest Authors?

Start advertising early and have a cut-off date for excepting submissions. State clearly where they can send their work. Don’t alter the post unless the author asks you to. Share the post with your readers on social media and thank the Guest for taking part. Ask if there is a way in which you can help the Guest Author in the future. Visit the Guest Authors’ site and social media. Like their posts and comment and encourage your readers to do the same.

How do you sign up?

I’m accepting submissions until April 15th. You must send your blog piece and accompanying art to sacrow@authorsacrow.com by the 15th of April to be included as a Guest Author. When you send your submission, you will receive a confirmation of your submission and further instructions, and any questions I have about the aesthetics of the post.
